Continuing the discussion from What are the top 100 most active Ruby repositories on GitHub?:
Same for Java (just testing)
SELECT repository_name, count(repository_name) as pushes, repository_description, repository_url
AND PARSE_UTC_USEC(created_at) >= PARSE_UTC_USEC('2012-04-01 00:00:00')
GROUP BY repository_name, repository_description, repository_url
ORDER BY pushes DESC
The top four are
yhadoop-common 55957 https://github.com/griddynamics/yhadoop-common
melete 37397 https://github.com/sakai-mirror/melete
platform 13291 https://github.com/wso2/platform
hbase 11129 https://github.com/griddynamics/hbase
liferay-portal 10857 https://github.com/brianchandotcom/liferay-portal
First looks like somebody's private Hadoop fork/mirror: a lot of branches and almost no stars\watches. The same people own the Hbase one.
I guess it's "active"because of pushes as a result of syncing with upstream (did not check it)
But who is the second one, melete? And why there is nothing here https://github.com/sakai-mirror/melete/pulse/monthly despite being ranked so high with this "most active" metic.
Is it impressive how 2 of top 5 guys are actually enterprise-born projects and other 2 are private clones of top Apache OSS projects.
I guess that's the nature of the language in question though.
